Environmental Impact
- Colombian drug cartels have destroyed more than 5.5 million acres of rainforest so that land could be used for the coca plantation and coca production.
- The hidden consequence that comes along with buying cocaine in America and Europe is the fact that many acres of rainforest are being destroyed each year just so cocaine can be planted and made.
- My fire project is a social justice issue because the people that are mostly affected by the drug cartels and drug trafficking are Mexicans. They are also for the most part very poor so thats something that works against their favor. Since they have no money they don't really have much to bribe or manipulate the drug cartels to give them protection or safety or to leave them alone. It is also a social justice issue because the whole world knows about what is going on in Mexico but no one is doing anything to stop or help them out.
- The main political issue is that the Mexican government officials are in on the drug cartel and drug trafficking business too. They have the power to possibly stop the drug war going on in Mexico since 2006.
- The issue we can address would be the economic issue because most of the drugs sold here all come from Mexican drug cartels. So we can stop buying drugs that are sold here in Chicago and we won't be giving them money anymore.
